TNA To Send Two Delegations To Africa And South America Before Geneva Vote

Sri Lanka’s main Tamil party the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) says the party is exploring the possibility of sending two delegations to African and South American before the vote on the US sponsored resolution against Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council, a senior TNA Parliamentarian told ‘Asian Mirror’.

He also added that the TNA will make the UNHRC member nations of the two regions aware of “on-the-ground developments” taking place  in Sri Lanka on the reconciliation front.

The TNA spokesman said dates are not yet fixed for the two visits.

South American and African regions are two main blocks on which Sri Lanka is relying heavily in terms of countering the US resolution against Sri Lanka at the March session of the UNHRC. The government has already sent high profile ministerial delegations to the two regions.
