UPFA Western Provincial Councilor Udaya Gammanpila has formed a new political party under the name “Pivithuru Hela Urumaya”

The symbol of the ‘Pivithuru Hela Urumaya’ will be lotus flower. A statement issued by Gammanpila in this regard adds that the lotus flower signifies purity, wisdom and unity.

The Pivithuru Hela Urumaya, led by Gammanpila, will support President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the forthcoming presidential election.

Gammanpila said the policy of the new party will be based on Buddhist teachings.

18 PS members who crossed over from the Jathika Hela Urumaya and several organizations  have already expressed their support to the newly found party
