Police Raid On Sirikotha In Search Of 'Defamatory Publications'

Police are now raiding Sirikotha, the UNP headquarters, in search of a "defamatory" booklet on President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The search warrant had been issued by the Gangodavila Magistrate to search for evidence that the UNP printed booklet called "Family Jungle" defaming President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Eye-witnesses said nine police officers were seen outside the Sirikotha premises,  a short while ago.

When contacted by Asian Mirror, a spokesman of the party said the party was unaware of any "defamatory publication".

This development came a day after the Police anti-riot squads surrounded Sirikotah fearing a protest by the 'Nil Balakaya'.
