Maithri Agrees To Give His Previous Official Residence To MR

President Maithripala Sirsena has agreed to give his previous official residence to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

A former President is entitled to an official residence from the government and accordingly, former President Rajapaksa get the previous official residence of President Maithripala Sirisena. The house is located at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 07.

President Sirisena yesterday announced that he would occupy former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella's official residence as the President's residence. The President's House at Fort will only be used for official purposes by the new President.

The former President, after his defeat, had informed the new government that he did not have a place to stay in the capital city of Colombo.

A government spokesman told Asian Mirror that the former President would enjoy all facilities that are entitled to a senior Cabinet Minister.
