Johnston Fernando Hits Out At 'Good Governance'

Former minister Johnston Fernando hit out at the government on Tuesday (31) saying that he has been a target of politically motivated accusations.

He made this observation when he was leaving the premises of Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption after being questioned for a second day. Fernando was earlier summoned to the Commission on March 6.

He pointed out that he had no issues with the investigations of the Commission. However, Fernando said that a certain politician had claimed that he and former minister Basil Rajapaksa will be arrested within two weeks. Politicians are slinging mud at opponents with false accusations, he said.

Fernando also asked if the politicians were carrying out the investigations.

This is the latest style in ‘good governance’ in the world, he quipped.
