Shasheendra Rajapaksa Summoned To Financial Crimes Division

Former Chief Minister of Uva Provincial Council Shasheendra Rajapaksa was summoned to the police Financial Crimes Investigation Division this morning to record a statement.

Police Media Unit told Asian Mirror that Rajapaksa was summoned at 9am to the FCID over a complaint that he had taken off two buses brought for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting for his personal use.

CHOGM 2013 was held in Sri Lanka in November 2013. Shasheendra Rajapaksa was the then CM of Uva Province.

Rajapaksa lost the CM position to Harin Fernando of United National Party days after Maithripala Sirisena won the presidential election in January.
