Resettlement: 570 Acres To Be Released In Jaffna

Minister of Resettlement, Reconstruction and Hindu Religious Affairs D.M. Swaminathan announced that 570 acres of lands in Valikamam North and East are to be released from 10th April 2015 for resettlement.

Releasing a statement to media, the Ministry of Resettlement said that Government Agent and the respective Divisional Secretaries visited the earmarked areas on Friday and requested the owners of the lands to get registered themselves with the Divisional Secretariat.

The government decided to release 1000 acres of lands in Valikamam North and East to their original owners. On March 23, 430 acres of land was released to the original owners at a function attended by President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe and former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumarathunga.
