Protest To Be Held Near Parliament Against Summoning Of Rajapaksa

A large number of supporters are expected at the mass protest against the summoning of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa to the Bribery Commission at Parliament Circus, UPFA MPs S.M. Chandrasena told Asian Mirror last night.

Speaking further, he said that the UPFA MPs, Provincial Councilors and members of Local Government Bodies have taken steps to bring a large crowd to this protest. The protest is due to start at 9a.m.

At a press conference in parliamentary complex on Monday, National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa called on the public to gather at Parliament Circus on Tuesday morning to take the protest to the streets.

A Facebook campaign was also launched on Monday regarding the protest.
