'Bring It On': Karunanayake Responds To Proposed No-confidence Motion

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake challenged the opposition to bring the proposed no-confidence motion against him as soon as possible.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Karunanayake said that the government has managed to bring down the cost of living by reducing corruption. The government managed within just days what the UPFA could not manage in 12 years, he added.

Therefore, the UPFA is trying to disrupt the government by various ploys, he argued.

UPFA MP Bandula Gunawardena said earlier in the day that the opposition was planning to bring a no-confidence motion to the parliament against Karunanayake on allegations of financial irregularities.
