Protest To Be Held Against Summoning Gotabaya Rajapaksa To Bribery Commission

A protest against summoning of former defense secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa to the Bribery Commission is to be held on Thursday (23) at 8am near the commission, Western Provincial Council Member Udaya Gammanpila told Asian Mirror.

He added that members of the United People’s Freedom Alliance and many other organizations are organizing this protest. “No single person or organization can take credit for organizing it”, Gammanpila said further.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa was summoned to the commission over the cases regarding Avant-Garde Security Services and Rakna Lanka Araksha Limited. Rajapaksa has continuously insisted on his innocence on these allegations.

Galle Magistrate Courts recently ordered CID to investigate the bank accounts of Gotabaya Rajapaksa over the Avant-Garde floating armory case.
