Mahinda Rajapaksa Says Distorted National Flags 'Could Be A Conspiracy'

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that the distribution of altered national flags to participants of two anti-government demonstrations could be a conspiracy.

He made this observation at an event in Galle on Friday.

Incidentally, both protests were organized in support of Rajapaksas. On Tuesday (21), some protesters could be seen carrying the flag outside the parliament when a demonstration was held in support of the former president. On Thursday, the flags were seen once again near the bribery Commission when a protest was held in support of his brother, former defence secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Mahinda Rajapaksa added that he is not afraid to appear at the Bribery Commission.

Rajapaksa was summoned to the Bribery Commission recently, which sparked a protest at the parliament on Monday. Supporters of the protesting MPs gathered outside the parliament on Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, the protest at the bribery Commission was against the decision to summon Gotabaya Rajapaksa to the commission.
