Deputy Minister of Public Order and Christian Religious Affairs passed away a short while ago, after being admitted to Panadura Hospital following a sudden illness.

Born on June 16, 1961, he entered the Mawathagama Pradeshiya Sabha in 1997 and was elected to the Western Provincial Council in 1999. He was re-elected in twice to the Provincial Council.

Wickremasinghe was elected to the parliament under the UPFA ticket in 2010 from Kurunegala District.
