SLMC To Contest With UNP: Decision On Eastern Districts To Be Taken Later

Sri Lanka Muslim Congress announced that it will contest the upcoming general election with the United National Party.

This decision was taken last night when the High Command met at Darussalam party headquarters.

SLMC also decided to take final decision on its course of action in the Eastern Province after the decision by the Mahinda Rajapaksa faction becomes public.

Party sources said that SLMC was planning to contest in Batticaloa and Ampara Districts separately under its symbol. However, the developments in the SLFP has prevented the SLMC from taking a final decision.
