Sirisena Backtracks: President's Threat To MR Camp Removed From Official Video Of Matara Speech (VIDEO)

The video of President Maithripala Sirisena's speech at the UNP-SLFP government's first anniversary rally in Matara was uploaded on his official Facebook page and Youtube channel, with his threat to reveal 'secrets' removed.

Sirisena, in his speech yesterday, said that the good governance government will continue to govern the country till 2020. He also added that those who crowned corruption in the country will never be let to govern it in the future.

He also made a clear threat to the 'Joint Opposition' referring to the speculations that they are planning to form a new party.

"They are threatening to form a new party. Let them. We will see about it then. We revealed a lot of secrets about their misdeeds before January 8 last year. If they form a new party, we will reveal secrets that will condemn them to total oblivion that they will be destined not to govern but to wander in the streets" Sirisena said in an uncharacteristic burst.

This part cannot be seen in the official video released today.

However, it received wide publicity in the media yesterday.

The official video published on Maithripala Sirisena's Youtube channel can be seen below.
