Western Province Chief Minister Isura Devapriya is claiming that former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa is conspiring with the United National Party (UNP) to form a new government after the Local Government election on February 10.  

Devapriya alleges Rajapaksa is meeting with UNP members at a secret location in Borella to iron out the plans for a new government.

The statement comes in the wake of rumours the UNP is initiating the impeachment of President Maithripala Sirisena.
