Finance Ministry Shoots Down Former UNP Bigwig Tissa Attanayake's Daughter Dulmini's Diplomatic Posting To Australia

The Finance Ministry has shot down a diplomatic posting given to former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake's daughter Dulmini Attanayake by the currnet government.

Attanayake, a long-standing ally of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, defected from the UNP and joined the Rajapaksa camp weeks before the last Presidential election.

The appointment of Dulmini Attanayake was recommended by Foreign Minister Thilak Marapana. She was nominated to be posted as the Third Secretary to the Sri Lankan High-Commission in Australia.

The Finance Ministry has shot down the appointment on the basis that Attanayake is not a member of the foreign service nor has she prior experience in the field of diplomacy and international relations.
