Senior Journalist C.A. Chandraprema Tipped To Be Appointed Sri Lanka's Permanent Representative To The United Nations

Senior journalist C.A. Chandraprema is likely to be appointed as Sri Lanka's Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

His name has been recommended by the President's Office. However, the Foreign Ministry is yet to make a final announcement on the matter.

Chandraprema is a columnist who has contributed mostly for 'The Island' newspaper.

A well-known author, Chandraprema is also the writer of the book 'Gota's War' which extensively explains President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa's involvement in the final military assault on the LTTE.

His appointment comes at a time when Sri Lanka faces intense scrutiny on the human rights front, in the wake of the resolutions passed by the UNHRC.
