Namal Rajapaksa Refutes Allegations On Foreign Bank Accounts

UPFA Hambantota MP Namal Rajapaksa refuted allegations that there were foreign bank accounts in his name.

Speaking to BBC on recent allegations that a son of a VVIP had a bank account in Dubai, Rajapaksa said neither he nor his brothers had any such account.

He added that even his parents do not have a foreign account.

Namal Rajapaksa is the eldest of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's three sons.

Media reports said that the Sri Lankan government had initiated an judicial process in UAE to freeze a bank account owned by a son of a VVIP.

Minister Rajitha Senaratne also spoke to BBC, saying that the bank officials in Dubai have already confirmed of the existence of the account and it has a deposit of over one billion US Dollars.

Rajapaksa refuted these allegations, saying that it was an attempt to sling mud at him and his family.
