Namal Rajapaksa Demands Rs 200 Million As Damages From FCID

UPFA MP Namal Rajapaksa filed a case at Colombo District Court demanding Rs 200 million from two officers of the FCID for damages caused by his arrest on an allegedly baseless complaint.

Rajapaksa said in his petition that he was arrested over the Krrish deal on a complaint filed by JVP Provincial Councilor Wasantha Samarasinghe and that he was remanded for a week.

He demanded Rs 100 million each from the OIC of the FCID and another SI for the damages caused to his reputation.

Rajapaksa was arrested on July 11 regarding the alleged misplacement of Rs 70 million donated by the Krrish Company. He was released on bail a week later.
