The R-rated comedy reboot of the beloved 'Baywatch' is really quite a wonder to behold. Those who lived through the TV show can expect same simple joy as the movie brings two hours of pure entertainment.
The cinematic remake of the 1990s hit television show stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Jon Bass and Ilfenesh Hadera.
Story in short: Rock plays Mitch Buchanan, Emerald Bay's head, who is forced to hire Efron's Matt Brody, a disgraced Olympic gold medalist being brought aboard as a PR stunt. Beyond saving drowning kids, they're dragged into a nefarious plot involving a wealthy club owner (Priyanka) who is importing drugs using her beachfront establishment as a front.
The original world wide hit series starring David Hasselhoff, also known as “The Hoff” and Pamela Anderson ran from 1989 to 1999, with a spin off, Baywatch Hawaii airing from 1999-2001. Baywatch was the most widely viewed TV series in the world, pulling in an estimated weekly audience of more than 1.1 billion viewers in 142 countries and at the time it represented a huge cultural shift.
Baywatch has faced a tsunami of middling to bad and negative reviews, though that won't stop the comedy-action movie from jetting forward to a sequel, and possibly, a franchise.
So and so, if you like junk food, Baywatch is a great summer escapade for you!
