Angelic Or Spooky: White House Takes "White Christmas" Little Bit Too Serious In This Holiday Season

December 02, 2017

Couple of days back Melania Trump, first lady of USA launched Christmas at the White House, featuring traditional decor. During and after the presidential campaign Trump vowed to bring back "Christmas" to the executive building.  Thus honoring 200 years of holiday celebrations at the White House, the first lady has chosen the theme “Time-Honored Traditions” for Trump family’s first holiday season in the White House.

At first glance the decorations look exquisite. The outstanding display includes Christmas wreaths hanging all around the White House, 350-pound gingerbread replica of the executive mansion in the State Dining Room along with 53 Christmas trees and 18,000 lights. More than 150 volunteers from 29 states spent 1,600 hours to decorate the White House.

Trump family's “white Christmas” vibe took an unexpected turn since the official pictures of the decors were released. The pictures were not as joyful as they intended and the social media platforms had a field day. Striking hallway decors were mostly compared to Harry Potter villains, True Detective, Stranger Things, Macbeth and Adams Family.
