The UNP won five seats in Badulla District, obtaining 258,844 votes (54.76%), while the UPFA won only three seats.

The UPFA polled 179,457 votes (37.97%).

Meanwhile, the JVP managed to poll only 21,445 votes and failed to win any seats. The Ceylon Workers' Congress received 10,259 votes.
