The 2016 budget proposals show that the government will not be able to guide the country in a sound economic policy, JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said.
Speaking to media after the budget speech yesterday, Dissanayake said that the budget proposals have not adapted any new economic policy.
Under the proposals, education will become a good sold in the market and land and financial markets will be opened up, Dissanayake argued. Meanwhile, the government sector will lose its pension too, he pointed out.
Such measures will take the country in a dangerous, destructive path, the JVP leader also complained. It will be advantageous to only a small group of people, he also maintained.
