S.C. Muthukumarana, representing the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), was officially sworn in as a Member of Parliament today, March 5, 2024.

The ceremony took place before Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena at the commencement of the parliamentary session this morning.

He replaces Uddika Premaratne who resigned from Parliament last week. 

Premaratne has reportedly migrated to Canada, with his family.
