Sri Lanka Sees Surge in Workers’ Remittances and Tourism Earnings


Sri Lanka's economic indicators are on the rise as workers' remittances and tourism earnings soar in February 2024.

According to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), workers' remittances surged by over 16 percent, reaching USD 476.2 million, marking a significant 16.88% increase compared to February 2023.

Similarly, tourism earnings experienced an impressive upswing, skyrocketing by nearly 114 percent to USD 345.7 million, compared to the same period last year.
