Local Pilgrims Restricted from Climbing Sri Pada During Off-Season

In response to the conclusion of the Sri Pada pilgrimage season on May 24, 2024, local pilgrims are now barred from climbing Sri Pada (Adam’s Peak) during the off-season.
A meeting held at the Nallathanniya Grama Niladhari Office, led by the Chief Incumbent of Sri Pada Ven. Bengamuwe Dhammadinna Thero, outlined this decision.
Only foreigners will be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage during this period, marking a significant shift in access to the revered site.
