Ferguson Police Make Arrests As Scuffle Breaks Out Near Police Chief

September 26, 2014

Police and protesters in Ferguson, Missouri, were engaged in an uneasy standoff in front of the city police department late Thursday after authorities arrested several individuals.

The arrests took place after Police Chief Thomas Jackson came out and addressed the crowd.

It was shortly after Jackson agreed to walk with the demonstrators that a scuffle broke out somewhere behind the chief, and officers moved in to make arrests.

Earlier in the day, Jackson apologized for his department's actions following Michael Brown's shooting, but pledged not to resign.
