Weerawansa Asks How Those Accused Of Murder Can Establish Good Governance

National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa asked if people who were accused of murder can establish good governance in the country.

Speaking at the inaugural UPFA election rally at Anuradhapura, Weerawansa said that the Batalanda Commission had recommended the banning of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s civic rights for his involvement in the torture center at Batalanda.

Weerawansa asked if such an individual can establish good governance in the country.

He also said that the government tried to create an impression that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is corrupt so that Rajapaksa could be defeated politically and carried off as a war criminal. He alleged that the UNHRC report due to be released in September will allege that 2 civilians and 41 military personnel were guilty of war crimes. The two civilians are Mahinda Rajapaksa and Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Weerawansa alleged.
