Tissa Attanayake's Forged Document Case Postponed To Next Year

Colombo Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage today postponed the case pertaining to the alleged forging of a document by former Health Minister Tissa Attanayake to January 13, 2016.

When the case was taken up today, the CID informed the Magistrate that it is yet to receive the legal advice of the Attorney General regarding the case.

Attanayake is accused of falsifying the signatures of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. During the recent presidential election campaign, Attanayake claimed that there is a secret agreement between Sirisena and Wickremesinghe. He also produced a copy of the document, which both Sirisena and Wickremesinghe claimed to be forged.
