CBK Has Become Media Spokesperson Of UNP, Says Janaka Bandara Tennakoon [VIDEO]

Former Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon today slammed former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga for her statement yesterday, adding that she has now become a media spokesperson for the United National Party.

Speaking at a media briefing at Dambulla, Tennakoon said that it was regretful to see the daughter of late Prime Ministers SWRD Bandaranaike and Sirimavo Bandaranaike making such a statement. He recalled how Sirimavo Bandaranaike had protected the party following the assassination of her late husband.

Tennakoon pointed out that the statement is disadvantageous to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party at the time of the election. Kumaratunga made this statement due to her personal enmity towards former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Tennakoon also said.

He added that SLFP should move beyond politics of hatred which Kumaratunga showed through her statement.
