SLFP Spokesperson Dilan Perera said that there was no division in his party, but there were serious divisions appearing in the UNP.

 

Speaking at a press conference today, Perera said that several UNP stalwarts have now started canvassing for Sajith Premadasa to be named the next opposition leader. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will be left to fight another battle inside the party, he said.

 

Meanwhile, Perera also lashed out at Uva Province Chief Minister Harin Fernando for his recent comments, arguing that Fernando had failed to addresses the charges thrown at the UNP and had instead asked the UPFA to take poison.
