Certain JVP National List Candidates Openly Support UNP, Says Jayagoda

Frontline Socialist Party (FLSP) Propaganda Secretary Pubudu Jayagoda on Thursday hit out at the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), saying that several JVP national list candidates are supporting United National Party (UNP) openly.

Addressing a media briefing on Thursday, Jayagoda revealed that former Auditor General Sarath Chandra Mayadunne had attended election meetings with UNP candidate Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.

Moreover, another JVP national list candidate, Upul Kumarapperuma, has acted as one of coordinators of a recent event organized by UNP candidate Upul Shantha Sannasgala, Jayagoda stated.

“JVP leaders like Lalkantha say that they are different from main two parties. They say their candidates will never support any other party after the election. But after seeing their national list candidates working with UNP, how can we believe it?” he questioned.

People like Ranil Wickremasinghe, Mahinda Rajapaksa, Rauff Hakeem, Anura Dissanayake are in the same boat, Jayagoda told. They do not want to introduce proper solutions for the problems of this social system, he added.
