Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure Minister Harin Fernando said that the government was planning to integrate the government hospitals through a digital network to improve services provided by them.

Speaking at the e-Health Asia 2015 Conference today, Fernando acknowledged that the internet speeds have to be improved for the success of such a program.

Meanwhile, he also said that the government was also hoping to increase the usage of smart phones and tabs in the country.

A programme will be initiated to give the young people an opportunity to buy these devices for a nominal price, he added.
