Movement for Equal Rights, which is attached to the Frontline Socialist Party, is holding a protest to urge the government to release political prisoners today near Fort Railway Station.

The protest will be held at 10.00am.

Suspected ex-LTTE detainees launched a hunger strike in the Magazine Prison and several other prisons on Monday.

Former MP Ajith Kumara visited the detainees at Magazine Prison on Tuesday.
