The body of Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera arrived in Sri Lanka from Singapore on board the SriLankan flight UL309.

Sobitha Thera passed away early this morning while undergoing medical treatment in Singapore. He was 73.

A renowned monk and political activist, Sobitha Thera led the National Movement for a Just Society, which played a crucial role in the election campaign of President Maithripala Sirisena.
