December 01, 2015

The Association for the Protection of Consumer Rights recently said that the Gazette notification on the reduction of prices of consumer goods has mentioned only seven items, contrary to the claims made by the government.

The government said that prices of potatoes, big onions, local and infant milk powder, sprats, dried fish, LP gas and kerosin will be reduced.

However, canned fish, infant milk powder, potatoes and big onions are missing from the list in the Gazette notification, the Association for the Protection of Consumer Rights said.

The government recently said that the Special Commodity Levy on potatoes and big onions will be reduced.
