Sarath Fonseka Arrives At Bribery Commission To File Complaint On Avant Garde

December 08, 2015

Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka today arrived at the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption reportedly to file a complaint against the Avant Garde Maritime Services.

Fonseka had previously accused certain members of the government for protecting the Avant Garde Company.

At a press conference on November 13, Fonseka lashed out at the Avant Garde Maritime Services Chairman Major (retired) Nissanka Senadhipathi, saying that he employed up to 2000 army deserters on a minimal pay.

Fonseka also said that Senadhipathi had offered to fund the Democratic Party election campaign entirely.

"If he offered to fund a small party like ours, it is no wonder that he funded people of larger parties" Fonseka said at the November 13 press conference.
