President, PM Have Contrasting Opinions: Rajapaksa

December 29, 2015

Opinions of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe are contradictory, and they came together only to defeat him, UPFA MP Mahinda Rajapaksa said.

Addressing a recent meeting, Rajapaksa reiterated his loyalty to the SLFP. “The SLFP is our party. We would not give the power to anyone”.

Rajapaksa insisted that two leaders cannot rule a country. Either Sirisena or Wickremesinghe should rule it, he added, arguing that the differences between them are pulling the country in different directions.

“A country cannot be ruled in this manner”, Rajapaksa stressed.
