Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa overtook President Maithripala Sirisena on Facebook today, to become the first Sri Lankan politician to reach 825,200 'likes'.

Rajapaksa's Facebook Page had 825,212 'likes' a short while ago. Sirisena's page had 825,183. With this development, Rajapaksa becomes the 'most-liked' Sri Lankan politician on Facebook. 

Meanwhile, Namal Rajapaksa's Facebook Page has over 678,000 'likes'.

Among the UNP MPs, Ranjan Ramanayake leads the pack with over 420,000 likes.
