The Colombo-Avissawella (Low Level) road was closed from Lower Hanwella to Embulgama due to overflow of the Kelani River, police said.

The river overflowed from the area this afternoon, hindering motor traffic.

People along the Kelani River valley have been warned to be vigilant of emergencies due to floods.
