Priyantha Colombage's "Adaraneeya Kathawak" In Hot Water Over Alleged Violation Of Tobacco, Alcohol Laws

Priyantha Colombage's film "Adaraneeya Kathavak" (A Melody of Love) has violated provisions of the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol Act, the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol has alleged, in a complain to the Narahenpita Police.

Accordingly, the film contains scenes depicting tobacco and alcohol consumption, contradicting the provisions of the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol Act.

Narahenpita Police filed a fact report with Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris yesterday, seeking a true copy of the film from the film Director, and the National Film Corporation (NFC).

The Additional Magistrate directed the Director of the film Priyantha Colombage, the National Film Corporation Chairman and the Manager of the Majestic City Cinema to hand over CDs of the true copy of the film to the Narahenpita Police for investigations.
