Nalin Bandara Complains To FCID Over Purchase Of Two Ships

Kurunegala District UNP MP Nalin Bandara today complained to the FCID over the purchase of two ships during the former regime of Mahinda Rajapaksa, alleging that a financial fraud amounting to US $ 30 million has taken place in the transaction.

According to Bandara, the two ships are valued at US $ 20 million each. However, the government has spent US $ 35 million each for the ships.

Furthermore, it is suspected that the ships have been manufactured in 1997 and that they are repaired old ships.

Bandara pointed out that he had raised the question in Parliament yesterday and the Prime Minister had also agreed that the transaction seems to be fraudulent.
