Update: IOC Deny Reports Of Ryan Lochte Being "Held Up At Gunpoint" In Rio

Conflicting reports emerged on Sunday about an alleged hold-up involving US swimmer Ryan Lochte.

According to Fox Sports, Lochte had been invited to a party by the Brazilian swimmer Thiago Pereira, following the conclusion of the swimming program on Saturday night. Fox reported that the incident happened at the party but Lochte is now safe and team headquarters.

However, an IOC spokesman later said that the reports were ‘absolutely not true’ according to both Lochte and the USOC.

Lochte was part of team USA at Rio and was part of the men's 4 by 200m freestyle relay team which won gold. He won two golds and two bronzes at 2008 Beijing Olympics and two golds, two silvers and a bronze at 2012 London Olympics.
