Thajudeen Murder: Telephone Records At Presidential Secretariat Erased, CID Informs Court

The CID today informed Colombo Magistrate Courts that the telephone records on calls made from the Presidential Secretariat to the then Narahenpita OIC on the day of Thajudeen's death have been erased.

CID said that Presidential Additional Secretary (Internal Administration) Anil Wasantha Wanigasuriya informed this in a statement.

Furthermore, an additional director of the News and Communications Department has told the CID that these records were erased by maintenance officials who are currently not employed at the Presidential Secretariat.

The CID informed court that investigations are being carried out on these officials. They also informed that the CPU which had the data was taken into its custody.

Senior DIG Anura Senanayake and the former Narahenpita Crimes OIC Sumith Perera were remanded further till September 7 over the alleged suppression of information on Thajudeen's death.
