Eravur police is still conducting investigations on a double murder of a mother and a daughter took place in Muhandiram Cross Road, Eravur.

The deceased, Mohomed Yusuf Janira (32) and her mother Noor Muhammadu Usera (56) were hacked to the death at about 12.45 p.m. yesterday, the police said.

The bodies are kept in Batticaloa hospital after the Magisterial Inquiry.

Preliminary investigations have said that the assailant or assailants have entered the house from the roof.
