Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that President Maithripala Sirisena lied about the corner stone at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre erected by former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.

In a statement, his press secretary Rohan Welivita said that the corner stone erected by Kumaratunga is still there. Sirisena had claimed that it was destroyed by Rajapaksa.

Rajapaksa did have another cornerstone built and both these can still be seen there at Nelum Pokuna Theatre premises, Welivita's statement said.
