Colombo District Court Judge M.U. Gunasekara issued an injunction order preventing the screening of Prasanna Vithanage's documentary film "Silence in the Courts" (Usaaviya Nihandayi) till October 19.

This order was given after considering a request by Magistrate Lenin Rathnayake, who says that this movie is making damaging allegations at him and the judiciary.

The film is based on the story of a woman who was sexually abused by the Magistrate. However, the magistrate claims that no case was filed against him and the allegation is totally baseless.

The movie was to be released in theaters tomorrow, the petitioner said, and requested its screening to be stopped.
