Two New Foreign Investors To Manufacture Drugs In Sri Lanka

Two foreign companies have signed relevant agreements to manufacture drugs and pharmaceuticals for the needs of Sri Lanka within the island. 

Representatives of Russian and Indian companies signed the agreements with local authorities for investments worth 10 million US dollars.   

28 companies have already come forward to manufacture drugs here.  

Chairman of the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation Dr. Sayura Samarasundera says Russian, Indian and Israel companies are among them.  

They will also produce Ayurvedic drugs for Sri Lanka's demand and excess to be exported.
