Kahatagaha Mine Workers End Underground Hunger Strike

Kahatagaha mine workers ended underground hunger strike yesterday after meeting State Minister of Industry and Commerce Affairs, Champika Premadasa.

The workers showed their unhappiness as 3 protesters fell ill suddenly during the meeting.

Around 100 workers launched a hunger strike 1132ft inside the Kahatagaha graphite mine, protesting against privatizing the mine on 25th.
