President To Tackle Tobacco Issue At WHO

President Maithripala Sirisena left the country for India this evening to take part in a special Summit of the World Health Organization on Control the use of Tobacco.  

President has been invited to deliver the guest lecture .  The Summit will begin in New Delhi under the patronage of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, tomorrow.  Sri Lankan President's lecture at this summit will be very significant as Sri Lanka is the first country that has implemented WHO policies on controlling the use of tobacco and related products. 

Sri Lankan  President and his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee will meet for bilateral discussion this evening.
